A/N:  Espeon804 here for another great chapter! Yes, I have gone back to my childhood indeed. The Pokemon world... With a twist! In other worlds, from the description, you can tell that it's more serious, and they'll be a little nuzlocke moments. You got some crazy bad guys chasing after a girl from a whole other planet. Sure, in the t.v series with Ash, Earth is the pkmn world, but not here. Oh no my friend. It's a whole other story. That was just the test.

So anyway, this series will be based from my most favorite game in the world. (I miss gen.4 that's my childhood...My friend lost my Platinum version. I just hope they are still in stock... All I have left from gen.4 is SoulSilver and Ranger: Guardian signs. Another friend lost my Mystery Dungeon: EOS...) but this story is not meant for 9-year-olds.

Oh, and about the Pokedex entries. I know a lot of them by heart. So it won’t be exactly word-to-word, more like, my own description.

So... Let the next chapter begin!
---------------- Meeting the Galactic disaster!--------------
"It's Commander Mars..." I stared at the woman with horror. This is impossible. There's no way that she could've escaped, because Team Galactic was put inside the best prison of Sinnoh! What's ironic? The fact that I'm the one facing her instead of Dawn, the girl I played in my "Pokemon Platinum version" game. This time, it's the real deal. I can't save my progress so that I can turn off the game and start all over if I lose to her. I can't run away and come back with new supplies before I face her. I certainly won't be pressing "a" to hear a person saying the same thing all the time for the rest of their lives, which annoyed me so many times. This is real. So if I lose, I lose. But that won't happen if she doesn't challenge me.
Mars glared at me with a look of annoyance. "So I obviously have  reputation around here too. I like you kid. You recognized me right away." She walked up to me, and I back away quickly. I don't remember this happening in the games. "The Sinnoh region. The land of guardians, legends... Gods... Welcome to the region where sins are committed. Ah yes, Sin-oh! Did I just commit one? Sorry dear!"
"Not cool." I finally found my voice. "People already hate you. Making fun of the region's name is only going to make it worse." Over her shoulder, I can see a woman with the skin color of coffee beans, much like Lalinda. Mine is more of a hot chocolate. "That must be her mom..." I look back at my enemy. "I ask you to... Release her... Erm... Now!"
Of course, this doesn't intimidate her. She only laughs at my "bravery". "Aw, how cute. The girl is being tough." She started to walk around me as the grunts chuckle at my cowardly. "You're obviously a trainer. Kids like you seem to always try to get in our way. Do you not understand that collecting the Windworks' energy makes a huge difference between this world and the new world?! But of course, you won't understand." Her red eyes dart to Lalinda's direction. "You came here to save this kid's mother, but how can you. You're a rookie!"
"You don't want to underestimate her!" Officer Jenny said. “She defeated some of your grunts without a problem!”
“Actually, they were the same two grunts the whole time.” I corrected her. It’s not something to take pride in.
“Pathetic.” Mars huffed. For a moment I saw her glaring at the grunt I ran into earlier. Then, she focused her attention back to me. “Alright. We’ll make a deal.”
Oh boy, just like the game.
“Your officer friend claims that you are strong, so I'll test that. If I win, you leave. If you win, we - Team Galactic will leave!” She narrowed her eyes. “Do I make that perfectly clear?”
I nodded. “Crystal.”
“Now keep in mind that your friend’s mother is in sake. So if you lose, I’m afraid that they won’t see eye-to-eye.” She pauses, then adds, “Oh yeah. And witnesses go boom-boom.”
Looks like she has a things for explosives. Not good for me. But, I can’t turn down. Despite the fact that my legs are shaking, I swallowed hard, and unclips one capsule, ready to fight. “You got it. I accept.” If only my brother was here.
"Okay. Let the fun... Begin!" Mars quickly tossed a pokeball high in the air, and I followed. Both capsules opened, and out came my Psyduck. She pulls out her Zubat.
"Zubat! Use Astonish!" Mars ordered.
"Water Gun!" I commanded in time. Aqua the Psyduck dodged the Zubat's attack, and she shot a stream of high pressured water from her bill. It shot the Zubat out the air, but the bat Pokemon managed to regain its flight.
Mars took a look at her Zubat, who looks like it's about to pass out already. Then she glares me. "What do you think you're doing to my Pokemon?!"
"Battling it. Duh." I suddenly felt my confidence come back. "Use Scratch!"
Aqua quickly ran to her opponent. Raising a webbed hand whose claws glow slightly, she slashes the pest, and it feel to the ground, defeated.
"Good job Aqua!" I praised her. "You showed them!"
"Psyyyy!" Aqua responded happily.
"You was just lucky." Mars huffed as she recalls the defeated Pokemon back into its pokeball. "But don't get so cocky kid. That was just a warm-up."
I do not like the sound to that.
Mars revealed another Pokeball, and tossed it to the air. "Purugly! Make her regret coming here! Faint Attack!"
Wait a second... Did she just gave an order even though this 'Purugly' is not present? I find it rather strange, since I'm use to seeing trainers give out orders when they are out and about.
The pokeball opened, revealing a ugly, large, fat, grey, cat. I see how it got it's name. But what surprised me is the fact that as soon as it hit the ground, it disappears. I was wondering where it went until I saw my Psyduck getting attacked by an unseen force. Then it hit me.
"It's invisible." I didn't like this one bit. It seems far much easier in the games. But I guess that's because I always turn it off and start over when I lose. I had to remind myself that it's not possible here. "Aqua! Heads up!" I warned her as I quickly took out my Pokedex. The device does a quick scan and the information pops on the screen as the pokedex starts to explain in it’s robot AI voice.
"Purugly, the Tiger Cat Pokemon, and the evolve form of Glameow. Purugly squeezes its two tails against its body to make itself appear bigger. When looking for a place to sleep, it simply drives a Pokemon out of its own nest instead of building one itself."
"What a lazy feline." I grumbled. Rather rude I'll say. But I know other Pokemon who are much more lazier, Snorlax for instance. If the Pokemon is as lazy as they say then it shouldn’t be a problem for me.
This win will be as easy as pie.
But then again, that Faint Attack is one tricky move to look out for…
But since this feline is a normal-type, a couple of Rock Smash attacks should knock it out without a problem. But then I wondered if she can feel pain under all that fat…
I shook my head as soon as I realized that I was going off topic. “Rock Smash!”
Aqua responded immediately. I keep an eye on her as she runs towards the Purugly, fist clinched, glowing red. She makes a swing, but the cat dodges under Mars’s command. It seems like I underestimated the cat. “Try again!” I ordered, in hopes that it’ll hit.
“Look at this. Looks like someone wants to play!” Mars teased. She smirks at her Purugly. “It’s like a game of cat and mouse. Simple. I’m the cat, you’re the mouse. Mice don’t fight cats, I hope you know that.” She laughs when Aqua’s attack missed again.
“But Aqua’s a bird, not a mouse.” I corrected her. “And some birds do fight back.”
“Hmm… is that so? Well then, so be it. Your attitude… I like it.” She rose her arm into the air. “All the more reason to not hold nothing back! Faint Attack time!”
Purugly disappeared, just like that. Stupid cat. I love cats, but this one’s a true burden. The problem is, I don’t own it. It’s like chasing after a feral cat back at home. Too much work, and sometimes, they fight back.
This is going to be difficult.
Perhaps this win will be as easy as pi.
I freakin’ hate pi. I hate anything that involves math, because I suck at it.
Then people wonder why my math tests are wet, then I’ll say “Because it’s below sea level.” They don’t get it. It means I scored below a C. Failing it. I’ll give Laffy Taffy credit though. It’s one of those few jokes that actually makes sense so it’s kinda funny.
WHAM! I quickly turned my head to the direction of the sound. Aqua’s been hit once more, and now she’s out for the count. Now I’m mad with myself. My head, always in the clouds. Being a rookie. Terrible combo. I sighed as the grunts cheer and praise the commander. I recalled Aqua into her Pokeball. ‘Strike one.’ I thought. I knew that I have three remainding. One opponent left. I wished that I could say how easy it’ll be.
Lalinda looked at me with concern. If I lose, then I only let her down. It’ll be my fault if she’ll never see her mother again. I won’t let that happen.
I unclipped a pokeball from my pokebelt. The capsule contains Batty. Perhaps speed can beat this lazy feline. I tossed it with all my might. “Batty! Wing Attack!”
The Zubat comes out, and soars her way towards Purugly.
“Pah, child’s play.” Mars smirked, her red evil eyes locked on my Zubat. “This one’s no entertainment.” Wait, what? “Purugly. Dodge it, then use Faint attack!”
Dodge, attack, faint. That was how it went. Strike two, just like that.
“It’s a critical hit.” Mars simply explained as if I was wondering how that happened. “Poor you. You only have one left.” She makes a puppy face. “Aw, pwease don’t cry.”
Well, I had to say, this commander is probably the most immature. But for some reason, it seems that she can predict how powerful my Pokemon are… or is that that she’s judging them with stereotype facts. Many People say Zubat and Psyduck are weak Pokemon. Now I wondered what she would say if I pulled out a Magikarp.
I would do that if I have one, just to hear what she'll have to say.
But she's right. One left. That fast... Man... This isn't fair at all. Now it's all up to Razorleaf. Hopefully, he can manage a Faint Attack or two. After all, he's a turtle. So, I tossed. His pokeball into the air, and he comes out, crashing his heavy body on the ground.
"GRROOOOOTLEEEEE!"
"Ooo! A rare Pokemon!" A grunt said in the sidelines. "What is it called? I want that one!"
"It's a Grotle." I answered for him. "And you're not taking him. He's mine and forever mine. Even though we just met recently, he's still my pal."
Mars glanced at my Grotle, then my Pokedex. She had finally put two and two together it seems, well, more like one and one. She rose an eyebrow, and folded her arms. "I see. Professor Rowman sent you out to explore Sinnoh didn't he?" Before I could even think she said, "Don't lie. Only a few chosen trainers are given such a valuable item. And it is said that those who posses one have a potential." I think I heard this somewhere before. "Consider yourself lucky kido. Without it, you would be clueless on who you're facing. So now I wonder, how well you can do in the future without it?"
I didn't like the sound of that.
Lalinda shrieked, and I spun around in time to see a grunt behind me, and witness him snatching the device from my hand! I lunge for him to get it back, but suddenly string spewed all over me and I can't move. It came from a pink worm with a tiny horn on its head.
"Ah, String Shot. Lowers the foe's speed. On humans, they are immobilized." Mars chuckled when the grunt drops the electronic Pokemon Encyclopedia on to her hand. " I can make a good use of this but, I'm not into gadgets like Saturn is. Maybe he'll do something good with it."
Saturn? Oh, no.
"All right. I think we're done here. Let's move out!"  They started to surround Linda immediately.
"NO!" I tried to move, but it's impossible. "Razorleaf! Stop them! Save Linda! I need that Pokedex!"
Razorleaf the Grotle did not hesitate. He charges towards the commander with a Tackle, but Purugly simply slashed his face with Fury Swipes, and knocked him out with Faint Attack.
I stared at the unconscious oversized turtle who lied helplessly on the ground. So this is how powerful that are. This is what commanders are like.
And... I let Lalinda down. I failed her.
"FLAME WHEEL!"
The sudden shout scared me off my feet... Well, It would had. But moments later, a huge flame in a wheel slammed into the feline's flank. She yowled a cry full of surprise and pain.
"MACH PUNCH!"
The flaming wheel dies down, revealing a orange ape with a tail that hash ember blazing at the end. His fist glowed white, and he threw a hard punch in the air. It ripples, then a force smacked Purugly in the face. She fell defeated.
And if those two attack sphere so powerful, it's clear that this savor was a Fire and Fighting type. Plus, it looked like Chimchar's evolved form! Amazing!
But the question is… who’s is it? There’s no other trainer who could possibly own one unless....
It dawned to me. Unless you have gotten it from the professor. The only person in here who fits that possibility is Lalinda. So, I turn to her direction, and certainly she stood there with a satisfied smirk on her face. If i knew she had that Pokemon earlier, I would had let her handle this, and stand on the sidelines.
Commander Mars was stunned. It took a few moments until a grunt shook her shoulder to snap her back to reality. I wish he hadn’t, because her shocked expression slowly transforms into a angry face. All her anger is towards Lalinda now. It seems that I don’t exist at the moment. “Why… you… you uppity BRAT!”
Her voice echoes through the quiet room. No one dared to speak.
Lalinda however, decided to reveal her true nature. Her smirk grew into a mischievous grin. “Oops, I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
The female grunt I always run into scowled. “How dare you speak that way to our commander!”
“She’s not my commander. So of course I can speak to her that way.” Lalinda simply replied.
The male grunt I always run into huffed. “Teenagers.”
“I’m 12.”
“Still counts.”
“I’m a pre-teen.”
“So? Still an annoying teen.”
“Good, some of you need to be annoyed.”
Huh. Never thought that she would have the nerve to speak to them that way. Before, she was pleading for my help. I guess her confidence returned to her. I guess that explains why the team kicked her out of the Valley Windworks.
I also know that I’ll run into my “favorite” grunts in the future. I’ll call them dumb and dummy. You can figure out which is which.
Mars finally calmed down. “Forget it.” Her tone still had a hint of anger in it. “We already collected the energy we need anyway, so your little victory won’t affect us even a little.” She started to walk away. “I have to admit, that was kinda fun until your little friend interfered.” So she’s talking to me now. “But next time, I suggest that you don’t stand in my way, because I’m a bit busy with future plans kid.”
Grunts marched after her, out of my line of sight… behind me. I wait until the marching faded, then I started to squirm again. “A little help here?”
Lalinda smiled a friendly smile. Not the mischievous one she displayed before. “Sure. Why not?” She turned to her fire ape. “Blaze, use Ember!”
“WHOA! ARE YOU CRAZY?!” That was not what I had in mind! I tried to break free in panic. “NOT LIKE THAT!”
Too late. The ape fires small flames from his mouth, and the cocoon caught on fire.
“FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS! MAKE IT STOP!”
And it did. The embers died the moment the cocoon turned to ash, and I’m unharmed. I can hear the officer laughing at my recent freak out moment.
“Boy, are you a weird one.” Lalinda mumbled. “You’re acting like you’ve never seen a Pokemon do this before.”
Well, I haven’t. Where I came from, people don’t burn others alive to free them from something. Where I came from, we don’t have fire-monkeys or gigantic grass-turtles or oversized fat cats that can kill you by just sitting on your head. All we had to worry about is knives and guns, not creatures who can electrocute you to death.
I really need to get use to this world.
But what I worried about earlier crossed me again. “My Pokedex!”
WHACK! It smacked me aside my head, and falls to the ground. I slowly turned to her with my hands covering my face. “OW!” I said in a do-you-realize-that-you-just-hurt-me way.
“Sorry.” Well, at least she apologized.
I quickly opened the device like a book as usual. The dual screen Pokedex. It apparently scanned the two Pokemon I just encountered.
“Wurmple, the worm Pokemon. Wurple has two spikes growing from its rear. It defends itself with it from it’s common predator - Starly.” It explained.
Then came the fire monkey. “Monferno, the Playful Pokemon, and the evolved from of Chimchar.” I knew it! “The blaze on the tip of it’s tail blazes well when it’s healthy. It extinguishes it before it goes to sleep.”
Well that’s good. Don’t want the house to burn down. But what about Charizard and it’s previous forms? It can’t do that. Otherwise, it’ll die.
Poor houses.
Linda slowly rose to her feet. She cheeked around in case anyone left of Galactic was still around, then she dashed her way towards her daughter. Both hug, filled with emotions and stress. That organization can really strike fear in people's hearts. I don't like that one bit.
As soon as they are finished with their reunion, Lalinda walked to me with an unsure look on her face. "Well, I saw how well you battled, and what you did was really brave. I mean... Sure, Mars whooped your team in a matter of minted, but..." Her eyes dart to the direction of my Grotle. "I was wondering if... I can join you. If we work together, then, we can grow stronger. It may not seem like much, but soon, we'll be so strong, bad guys will run when they see us." She looked back at me, waiting for an answer.
Wow. I never thought that anyone would even consider traveling with me. To be honest, I hate traveling by myself. "Well, the more, the merrier they say." I showed her a big smile. She knew what that meant, because she seems relieved. "Yeah. I would love that. Perhaps we might run into some bad guys of course, then we can stomp them."
"Stomp?" She repeated the word with a light chuckle. "Yeah. Stomp Team Idiotic. Until they are pancakes!"
I laugh at her pun. They really are a bunch of idiots. "So what do you suppose we do if we run into another commander?"
"I dunno. But I know one thing. They'll bore us with their talk of cosmos, galaxies, space, time, the universe. Boring."
"I love science, but that's a little too much."
"I'll knock them out with my frying pan!" And I thought that was a joke until she actually pulls one out. She's serious. "You hear that red hair freak! Revenge!"
"Don't get too cocky." I warned her. "As rookies, we have to keep our guard up."
She slowly put the pan away, a little embarrassed, "I guess you're right..." Her voice trails off when she notices a necklace worn around my neck. It is a dark blue rhombus shaped charm that has a light blue “X”  resting on top with a pink pearl in the center. “That necklace there…” She looks at me with awe, which I found strange. She then whispered, “You met him too?”
“Who?”
“Never mind… but I never thought that I would meet someone who was chosen too.”
“Huh? Chosen? By whom?”
Lalinda lowered her voice to the point that I could barely hear her. “A legendary Pokemon.” She reached for a necklace of her own. Hers is the ‘yin’ symbol of yin and yang. Only, what replaces the white small circle is a blue dragon eye. “They told me that I hold the Power of Black.”
I bursted out laughing.
“Hey! Don’t get the wrong idea!” She snapped, startling me and everyone else. “Sure, it sounds wrong, but the powers are based of versions!” She lowers her voice again. “They told me that a legendary fire dragon is also known as ‘Black’. They didn’t give me that name on purpose!”
Makes since now. I thought the guys were being racist or something. I had to remind myself that yin represent the female principle and such. Plus, the yin half is the color black. Duh.
“And yours is “X” right?”
I nodded. “I was told about some fairy deer. Sounds kinda childish. A pixie deer? Since when?”
“Well, I feel sorry for your when you meet this pixie deer. Mine is a dragon.” She teased.
“Oh, hush up.”
Eventually, after saying our goodbyes, and Linda’s approval of Lalinda joining me, we left the building and the Windworks healed our pokemon, went back to Route 205, and approached the small bridge that allows people to cross a small river that leads further to the route. Tall grass was almost too common, and trainers were just about anywhere. Some burden if you ask me.
“Get ready to get spotted, red exclamation point goes up above their heads.” I Muttered to myself. I looked ahead, and Lalinda is already battling some lass. I guess that she has no problem with that, but it gets annoying over time, especially if you are trying to avoid wild pokemon with wounded pokemon. One more step ‘till freedom, then, the wild Pokemon theme plays.
I walk further down the route, and is spotted by a hiker. He was easily taken care of with Aqua. A Battle girl is taken down by Batty. Lalinda rejoins me, and we decide to risk going down some steps to harvest berries that were growing near the river. Trainers are there too. I paused suddenly, almost laughing when I spotted something odd. “What in the world?”
Lalinda stopped too, and stood next to me. “What is it?”
I pointed to a flower girl who is spinning slowly in circles.
“You really are odd. She’s looking for a challenger.”
This world is so very strange. It’s too much like the game, and now it’s starting to creep me out, because now I know that as soon as I hit a route, I’ll see a trainer running, stopping, spinning around, and start all over. Soon I’ll be desperately dodging the eyes three trainers who are restlessly running back in forth in different paces.
Too much like the game… just too much. Thank Arceus they don’t say the same line over and over again for the rest of their lives.
So, we took care of them. I was surprised that the flower girl isn’t even a tiny bit dizzy. If it were me, I would had thrown up.
“There it is!” Lalinda points ahead. All I see is a bug catcher standing in front of a huge long stretch of clustered trees that go on forever and ever.
“Trees?” That’s the only guess I could say.
Lalinda sighs, and pulled me with her closer. I sign in front of the trees reads: “Eterna Forest.”
I don’t see a forest, just trees planted so neatly in endless rows. But what I do notice is a clear path beside it, so I run for it.
“Wait! You can’t go there yet!”
I ignored her, and run until I see a small tree with just two branches blocking my path. Someone needs to cut it down.
She finally caught up with me. “See?”
“I can go around it.” I run for the space that the tree doesn’t block, but instead of passing it, I ran into a invisible wall. “OW!” I heard a sound, the same sound you hear in all pokemon games when you try to run through walls, but all you hear is ‘Oom” Which is the games’ way of telling you, “You can’t walk through walls idiot!”
“See?” She repeats the word again, satisfied that her point has been proven.
“Alright, alright. I’ll listen to you more. Let’s go back.” This is stupid. I couldn't even go around a stupid tree.
So we do, and we stand in front of the cluster again. “Now what?’ I asked her.
She walks to one tree, and taps her foot on a dirt patch, the same patch back at Floaroma town that took us to that honey guy.
“Oh.”
I cautiously took a few steps towards it, and as soon as I step on it, the world goes white for a few moments, and when it clears, a dark, murky forest stands before me. “Oh…”
This was almost exactly like the game. Now I wondered  if my brother figured this out yet, because if he reached here, he'll be trying to figure away out forever.
"Hello?" Apparently, I drifted off. "Are we moving on or what?"
I nodded, and I started my travel through the forest. Unlike the game, you can actually hear the cries of the creatures living inside. Some of them sounded familiar, others were new to me. That worried me. Now I wished that I brought Potions and stuff, because tall grass is just about everywhere. There's no way around it. I have no choice but to walk through the thicket.
"EEERRRERRAAAH! EERRRERRAAAH!"
"What the heck?!" I jumped at the sound that harmed my ears. "What was that?!"
"WHA-WHA-WHA-RAAAAH!"
Okay, now I'm terrified.
"BLEER-WHEH-WHEH!"
Make it stop!
My friend rolled her eyes at my reactions. “Calm down. It’s just wild Pokemon cries. Gastly… Buneary.... Bedew…” She named the cries in order.
Huh? They do their game cries too? This is so very confusing. It’s like the anime and the games came together as one whole world. This doesn’t make any sense. They say their names and do their cries....
So I guess that my team can do the same.
“Are you from around here?” She asked me.
“Uh… no?” I replied awkwardly.
“Thought so. Because you, my friend, got a lot to learn.”
Yeah. Obviously.
We silently walk through the forest. Meanwhile, I used my Pokedex to learn about the Pokemon that I encountered so far.
“Gastly, the Poison Gas Pokemon. Gastly’s toxic fumes are so powerful, it can cause anyone who smells it to go unconscious.”
Well… that’s dangerous.
“Buneary, the Rabbit Pokemon. One ear is always rolled up. It can use it’s ears to deliver powerful punches. If both ears are rolled up, it is unhappy”
So far, so good. I encounter more and more Pokemon. The professor would be thrilled.
I turned to my new friend. I want to learn more. “What other Pokemon do you have?”
She removed a Pokeball from her own Pokebelt. “I have a Shinx.”
Shinx. I could’ve sworn I saw one in Route 202. But I didn’t bother to pull out my Pokedex. So I allowed the device to scan the Pokeball, and another explanation is done.
“Shinx, the Flash Pokemon. It’s body contracts and storers electricity. It glows when in trouble, and flees while the foe is blinded.”
“Yeah, go ahead and keep doing that. You’re gonna need to know a lot.”
“You’re making fun of me are you?”
She simply replied with a smile.
Minutes pass by as we continue our way through. We passed a crooked tree branch for the third time. Not a good sign.
“Hey… didn’t we already pass that?’ I quickly took note of that.
Lalinda seemed to realize this too, because her expression showed complete worry. “Oh, no! We’re lost! This is bad! I’m gonna starve! We’ll be living in trees! I’ll be mauled by an Ursaring!”
What’s and Ursaring? I pulled out my Pokedex to look it up, but all it says is: “Location unknown.” They don’t live in Sinnoh.
“I’m gonna die!”
“Just you? What about me?!” I snapped.
“Pah. Look at you two fools.”
Oh boy. I recognize that voice anywhere.  I turn to that direction, and I see the selfish Marlen who looked at us like we’re stupid. He had his arms crossed, and noticed Lalinda next to me. “I see that you made a new friend. She’s clearly as stupid as you are. Pitiful.”
“Hey! Watch it Buster!” Lalinda growled.
“You don’t scare me.” He says coolly.  “You say that you're lost, but common sense would tell you to use your Flying-types to scout for you.”
Lalinda whispered in my ear; “Who is he?”
“Marlen.” I whispered back.
“Look at him. He’s such a jerk.”
“Actually he’s a brat.”
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING ME A BRAT?!” He clearly overheard our small talk. But he seen our shocked faces, and shrugged it off. "None of this should be my concern." He glanced at me, and added, "I'm not going to waste my time battling you. I have some strong Pokemon to catch. Just so you know, your last victory was a fluke!" And he walked away.
"He's such a dork." Lalinda growled. "I just met him and I already hate the guy."
"He cares nothing for Pokemon unless they are strong to him." I explained. "He'll never enter the league that way."
Suddenly, we heard a loud CRASH! It startled us both.
"What was that?!" Lalinda shouted. "Something bad I bet!"
"Sounds like something crashed." I guessed.
We exchanged glances, then we sprinted towards the sounds. We ignore the wild Pokemon who shout and yowl in surprise of our coming. Up ahead, a large helicopter is totaled and smoking. It could burst in flames at any moment. Me being curious, I approach the vehicle, and quickly noticed the yellow "G" logo on it.
Team Galactic. Serves them right.
"How ironic." Latina huffed, amused with what she sees. "Karma got to them."
"Looks like something took them down." I said. "Suppose what it is?"
"Probably a Pocket Monster or something."
Oh, that's right. Pokemon is the abbreviation for Pocket Monster. Monsters that fit in your pocket. But hardly anyone uses the word. That's the first time I heard it come from someone else's mouth.
Then I see it. A transparent figure. It was there, but only for a split second, then it's gone. "That must be it." I muttered to myself. "But... What was that?"
"What was what?"
Before I could answer, the helicopter door opened, and broke off. It slammed to the ground with another crash. A couple grunts came out coughing heavily. They immediately recognized us… well, some of them.
“Fancy meeting you here.” Dummy said with sarcasm. “What do you two want?”
“Oh, nothing.” I replied. “Just passing by. I actually feel fine today. How about you?”
“I feel terrible myself.” Dumb replied angrily. “A stupid pokemon took down our ship!”
“Suppose what it is?” I asked them.
“Don’t know. It was there, then it wasn’t.”
“Hm, that’s rather unfortunate don’t you think?”
“Yeah. We was planning on catching it and- Wait a second…” Dumb glared at me and shot to his feet, only to fall from his pain. “Stupid brat! You’re trying to get information out of us!”
“No I’m not.”
“Oh, yes you are! I hate sneaky kids like you!”
“I’m not sneaky.”
“Yes you are!”
“No I’m not.”
“Yes you are!”
“Not.”
“Are!”
‘Nuh-uh”
“Uh-huh!”
“I say not.”
“I say so!”
“You’re not my dad.”
“Of course not!”
“Then why are you telling me?’
“What are you even talking about?!”
“Oh my Arceus! Enough of this!” Dummy growled in irritation. “You are wasting time! Let’s get out of here before the cops show around!”
I spat a raspberry at her.
“Okay! That’s it!” She takes out a - holy Miltank, that’s a laser gun! Seeing my terrified look, she nodded. “Yeah. Now what do you have to say brat? Bet that you can’t save yourself this time!”
“By Giratina’s spikes! She’s insane!” Lalinda yelped. “I’m too young to die!”
The other grunts sneered at us. They got us this time.
Or so they thought, because blue blast of flames flames on to the vehicle, and now it’s on fire!
“What in Dialga’s Diamond is going on here?!” One grunt panicked. “What was that? Th-that was… Dragon breathe?!”
“GAAAAR!” A blue shark-like dragon soared over their heads, causing them to scream. It lands in front of them, and roared once more.
“Screw them! Let’s beat it!” The Galactic grunts scurry away in seconds.
The dragon turned to our direction, and I back away quickly with my friend. “Uh… nice dragon… nice scary looking dragon….”
“We’re done here Garchomp!”
I notice a woman wearing all black with long, I mean, very long blonde hair walking to us. “Are you two alright?”
We both noded, still shaking.
She laughed at this. “Don’t worry, she won’t hurt you unless I order her to do so.”
Thanks for telling us that. Now I have to remind myself  to not cross her.
“My name is Cynthia, a trainer like you.” She shows us a friendly smile. “I saw you standing up to Team Galactic at the Windworks, so I was going to praise you, but you both got into trouble again it seems.”
“Yeah. Thanks for saving our skin.” I finally found my voice. “That’s one powerful… er… Garchomp right?”
She nodded. “So I’m guessing that you’re heading for Eterna city?”
“That’s right.”
“Then I’ll lead you.”
I would had said no, but then again, I’m still lost.
So we followed her the rest of the way. None of the wild Pokemon dared to ambush us. I can’t blame them. That Garchomp’s intimminating. Eventually, we find a tree with a dirt patch. We got on, and the city appeared before my eyes.
The place looks historical and old. I spotted a huge statue far ahead, but I can’t get the full view off it since a few buildings block the vision.
“Welcome to Eterna city.” Cynthia said. “This place is full of legends. Plus, if you’re interested, there’s a gym here too.”
“Of course. That’s why I was heading here.” I said with a hint of excitement. “I have to thank you Cynthia.” Garchomp snorted. “Oh, and you too Garchomp.”
“No problem. I won’t interfere with your challenge, so I’ll be going. Hopefully, we’ll cross paths again.” And she walked away, leaving us two alone again.
After a few moments of silence, Lalinda speaks up. “Well? What are you waiting for? Let’s get going!”
“I hear ya.” I start to walk ahead of her in search for the gym, but something else caught my eye.
The same transparent figure I’ve seen earlier. “Who are you?”
